I was born in Italy some time ago. I lived and studied over there (see below) until I was 24 years old. I then lived to Toronto (Canada) and Chicago (US) where I conducted research in cognitive psychology.
I moved indefinitely in London in 2009.
I hold a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Neuropsychology, obtained at the University of Bologna (Italy). I also completed a doctorate in Counselling Psychology at City University London (UK). My academic achievements have enabled me to become a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the HPCP (Health and Care Professional Council) and a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with the BPS (British Psychology). It is vital the practicing psychologists be registered with these two important bodies, in order for us to be bound by rigorous ethical codes, which regulate how we should deliver our interventions.
I have also just completed a comprehensive training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which ultimately will enable me to apply for full accreditation as a CBT therapist.
I have worked in the mental health sector in the NHS for the last seven years, and I have experience in working in primary care and secondary care. Therefore, I am also able to see clients with complex and chronic psychological issues.
